Let me get this right. You're saying that the dead air in the mortal world acts as a barrier to air related magic from the god, spirit and essence planes?

However Urox is exempt. Because his magic comes from the Eternal Battle?

It is also in some strange way a barrier to most Earth related magic because of Ernalda's marriage to Orlanth. Even though many of Ernalda's aspects are not married to Orlanth. E.g. Mahome is married to Barntar who retains his magic.

Or is the loss of Earth magic not directly related to the death of the air. Perhaps Ernalda withdraws from the mortal world because Orlanth is barred from it?

With the magic they'd stored up, yes. That's not going to last long given the increased demand and bearing in mind Kolatings are a small minority of the population.
