Part of the story of the Kitori is they can not be described in absolute
terms. It is impossible to focus on them to see what they are, because
they always appear to be something and then, afterwards, defy that
description.

Because they could mingle with the uz, they are not human. Because they
can be insubstantial, they are not physical beings. Because they can

I believe (at this point) that there is no connection. It is an accident
of language that the words appear to be the same.
