It would seem that some of the authors had never read any old RQ products or even the middle sea empire book. Luckily as it's completely self contained that won't affect anyone playing in it as it's consistent within itself. The continuity between 2nd & 3rd age products is only a problem if you are playing a game that spans both. Those who would do this I sure would be able to iron out problems in consistency.

Hmm, I've been playing in Glorantha since the second edition and while I agree some of the Mongoose books weren't that good I never really thought the feel was that bad. I haven't read the Middle Sea Empire book so that may be why. A lot of them feel really rushed and poorly edited or seemingly old RQ materials reused. (Why does the cult of Lodril mention Lunars?)

If we continue to refer to old out of print or PDF sources that people can't obtain, then we are potentially driving away glorantha's future. Moon Design is heading in the right direction with all this, so far releasing quality well written products, that let us leave the distant past behind. I'm sure Pavis will mean I can get rid of those old out of date Avalon Hill supplements.

I really wish I could get excited about their releases which I'm sure are excellent but as a RQ player I can't. I need those big stat blocks or at least some generic stat blocks I can substitute. No matter how good they are they're just background info and would represent too much work to use.

I'll be interested in seeing what the Design Mechanism comes out with once they're finished RQ6.
