I've read through this thread, but I'd like to go back to this first post because, in my hubris, I don't think it's been answered the way I'd like to.
Others have argued that each of the cultures you later mention either do have their own conception of Chaos, or have been introduced to it by foreigners. I think that's true, but even if it weren't it would still be true that Chaos is specific, meaningful and useful concept to use when we talk about Glorantha, and anyway there are loads of words and ideas we use all the time when discussing Glorantha that many Gloranthan cultures have no concept of.
There's a balance to be struck between using culturally appropriate terms (Krjaki, Digijelm, etc) when appropriate, but not everyone is completely versed in the specific subtleties of these terms for every culture. Traditionally the rules have kept it simple and just addressed Chaos as a specific term in the rules and in the world. Sometimes it really is best to just call a spade a spade.
