But when the Sun dies, he screws up Wonderhome. The "Hell of dead surface beings" seems to be somehow connected to the "Hell of the Uz". Which is strange, since, as you note, Darkness and Death are separate. Indeed, they're opposite--*Light* is Death. Just ask any Uz.

From the Troll POV, it is perhaps arguable that the Underworld *became* the place of Death when Yelm Komosha--the God of Death--went there to set up his court. But that begs the question, just *why* did Yelm go there when Orlanth stabbed him? I don't know. Sheer bloodymindedness, perhaps.
