Well, my Glorantha varies. Nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah.

Balderdash and humbug. Kyger Litor is the Mother. You emerge from her; you are not engulfed by her. She's the opposite of ZZ. (It would be different if trolls viewed her as the wife goddess. Then she would engulf. But they don't.)

Yeah, I noted that there were some differences:

I see the Eater as sweeping across boundaries, like darkness does at dusk. I think that Zorak Zorak is a manifestation of the Eater for a particular culture. The stories that they know are ones that identify him crossing boundaries. They are all comprehensible within the Eater rubric. When the Eater reaches out and touches you, it's not with a loving embrace: it's with his teeth.

Round up some stories where he's a boundary crosser and I'll make them fit in that square hole. Where's my hammer?

Frankly, the part of Zorak Zoran as Eater that does not work is the whole zombies thing. That only makes sense as a violator of rules. And I don't see anyway that making a zombie is like consuming something. (Now, if he sucked the soul right out of the body and left the zombie behind, that would be kewl! But that's not the way it works.)

Yep. It is one of the foreign spirits they worshipped before Waha came and saved us all. Praise Waha!

That's the Black Net. I think it's a different thing. (Becuase the Black Eater NEVER disgorges something!)

They were summoning the Black Eater on Gbjai when he wounded Kyger Litor. One could speculate that the Black Eater rebounding on KL and was what caused the damage. (Helping fix this is one of my character's secretish quests.)

So are teenagers. And gamers. My point about Death Lords being perpetually hungry was MGF, not proof of my position. My wannabe Death Lord particularly likes salad: four runners tossed with a green elf with a dash of red elf for flavor. Mmmm, tasty.
