Thanks a lot for the reply. Still, I'm not sure I have understood properly.

How did he survive? Did he discover then that he was Heat under the earth (or did he go down there willingly?)

So Yelm comes down and the two brothers meet. Yelm rules over all, but in the Underworld he needs the help of his little brother. They kind of make a pact: Lodril awakes Yelm's Hidden power, and in turn, Yelm rekindles the Warmth of Life, the Heat Inside.

What role do the 3 fires (Mahome, Gustbran and Oakfed) play in all this? Are they known at all by Dara Happan peasants (perhaps by other names)? Were they begot during the Great Darkness or before that? Were they perhaps rekindled/rescued then by Lodril and given to his followers to help them survive?

So Oria is the Dara Happan land goddess, more or less like Ernalda in Sartar? Is she the main goddess of female peasants while Lodril is for males? Are these two gods married in the myths? So both Oria and Yelm helped Lodril regain his powers (helped him go back to the surface?) ?

Yes, and thanks for answering! :-)
