The Aeolians predate Arkat.

Although HeroQuest 1 materials did present the Aeolians of Esvular in this way, I don't think this is still the case. The draft Guide to Glorantha speaks of the Aeolians as participating in Orlanthi rites (as opposed to the earlier description of worshipping Orlanthi deities in the Malkioni manner) while other Henothesists are said to sacrifice to gods and spirits.

The reason for the change is probably due to the general revision of Malkionism away from a christian/islamic analog to a hellenistic philosophical analog.
