Merging Clans

So I'm running the Orlmarth campaign (although I haven't gotten to the published scenario events yet) and I have a couple questions that have been coming up in my game lately. Thought I'd get some opinions on them before I made a final decision.
  1. The clan water helps protect the tula from invasion. But what exactly does this cover? Does it warn the clan any time anyone who is not a clansman appears on the tula? Does it only warn when someone with malicious intent shows up? Does it only respond to large groups of people? Does it only respond to raiding parties and armies? Obviously, there's probably some variety from one wyter to another, but what's standard? It seems to me that if the wyter shouted every time a traveler walked across the tula, the clan's patrols would be awfully busy, and it seems to work against scenarios where a stranger shows up to the clan's village (since the patrol would probably catch all of them before they got to the village (for example, in the Righteous Wind scenario from TotRM, the scenario would be short-circuited right at the start, because a patrol would intercept Egrid the Enlightened before he could claim hospitality. Patrols would also intercept the Deadwood before they got settled on the Greydog tula.) So I'm th inking that wyters mostly tend to react to raiding parties and armies.
  2. What happens when two clans merge? I lifted the Righteous Wind scenario and had the Deadwood show up on the Orlmarth tula, and the players negotiated a bargain that may eventually wind up with the Deadwood being adopted. The Deadwood have their own wyter, although it's much weakened by what's happened to the clan. So if the Deadwood join the Orlmarth, do the Orlmarth now have two wyters, the Woodpecker and the Deadwood wyter? Does the Deadwood wyter just become a lesser second spirit helping the clan? Is it extinguished when the Deadwood are adopted into the Orlmarth? Does the Woodpecker acquire some of the Deadwood wyter's abilities? Does the Deadwood wyter become a guardian of the new Deadwood Stead?
  3. What are Delecti's runes? Darkness and Undeath seem obvious, but characters ought to have three runes, so what's his third? Stasis?
