Because his skill is Close Combat (Kitchen tools) so he takes a penalty when using bare hands vs the Lunar Army (got to be at least a -20 there...)

And because his feats are things like "Meat Cleaver of Doom", "Piercing Potatao Peeler", "Saucepan of Protection" and "Unbeatable Garlic Press"...
