Talking of house rules I seem to remember a common one used, in HW which was to allow one Physical and one Mental augment per action instead of just one mundane augment. Of course the distinction has been removed now so not very useful for HQ.

Another almost trivial example since HQ: I have tended to resolve uninvolved tasks without augments where Victory/Defeat levels are required quickly. Kind of a separate type of contest between Automatic Success and Simple Contest used for 'task resolution' rather than 'conflict resolution'.

This wasn't a conscious thing, it just emerged to fill an occasional need and a recognition that augments are not always relevant or worth worrying about when the stakes are low or we just want a result. I wouldn't be surprised if many people do this; a quick let's let the dice decide situation.
