Okay, this single ability got me thinking. If you have BlasTech DL-44 and do some customizing to it I get changing the ability to Customized BlasTech DL-44, but if the effect is more than fine tuning does the ability become a Keyword? And, is it fair to charge 1 HP for the change?

In example,
Customized BlasTech DL-44 2W1
the Customized BlasTech DL-44 has long range features added to it. Is it fair to change it to a Keyword for 1 HP and it looks like this now: Customized BlasTech DL-44  2W1

Long Range                    13

This makes sense to me, what do you guys think?

The way I do it in my game is to turn the object into a sidekick.  Which incurs a one time cost of 2 HP, though I did look into the HQ2 rules and could see nothing about this.  This may be a hangover from HQ1 where this was definitely possible.

As we play it all our favorite weapons are sidekicks, many have powers that have been specifically gained in heroquests.  I see no reason that this couldn't be so in Starwars.  You just need to find the right weapon shop to do the modifications you require.
