I will try and respond to this more descriptively at lunchtime tomorrow (I
go bed now) but there's a truly *excellent* description of just such a
ceremony in Brian Bate's 'The Way Of Wyrd', a fictional account of
Anglo-Saxon sorcery by the head of the Shaman Research Project at U Sussex.
It and its sequel, "The Wisdom of Wyrd" are both prime Gloranthan, and
especially Heortling, sources.
