Flying fighters. In particular, Orlanthi ones, the Vanganthi being the obvious example. How do they go about fighting?

Vanganth himself is pictured with a shield but no weapons, because he
"rarely engages in mortal forms of combat". But the physical abilities
his worshippers get are "fight while flying" and "throw sword".
The Secret includes feats for "attack with windblast, dive from above,... Hover.. Knock down flyer" inter alia. So we can assume that Vanganthi can *only* do these things if they have the Secret, and so most Vanganthi *can't*.
I'd assume that weight is important. So Vanganthi prefer light armour and weapons.
My immediate use for a flyer would be to stay out of melee range and shoot from above. But the physical abilities suggest they're using melee weapons, swords in particular.
How does one deliver a heavy blow while flying, without being able to
brace oneself against the ground? They can't hover. So all combat is
"on the move", hit your opponent in passing. Maybe the speed of travel
is what puts weight behind the blow?
I'd guess that position is prone rather than upright, as otherwise you're asking to have your legs chopped off.
