How does Argrath bringing back Sheng Seleris from his heroquest fit in with this rule?

Did one of Argrath's followers have to sacrifice his soul so that Sheng could inhabit his body?

And would the follower know this was likely to happen before going on the quest? :)

(Same point would apply to Harmast/Arkat, too).
