ToS asked a couple of very broad questions, to which there is no single "right" answer, but here goes anyway:

> How do the theists view sorcerers and their beliefs?

Theistic Carmanians are all members of the Carmanian Church. They know that they are worshipping Good Gods in the Right Way, because the Magi (who venerate Idovanus) tell them so. And the Magi are "sorcerers". There's no problem there.

(Remember that Pelandans are used to seeing Jernotian Mystics around -- they don't have a problem with "alien" magic, any more than the Orlanthi get riled by Kolatings and Sedrodosan Earth Witches).

Anyone sensible might well be a bit more "iffy" about sorcerous viziers, who are also -- thankfully! -- held to account by the Magi. While "wicked viziers" are a cliche'd feature of Carmanian noble life, every lord must have a vizier in his entourage, and benefits from their sorceries.

(And these lords and viziers, of course, will hate and fear the viziers of rival houses -- who knows what sinister ancient heresies are still kept brewing in their secret chambers?).

> Plus how much anti Lunar/Dara Happan feeling is there in Carmania?

That depends on who you're talking to. Also, those can be two separate threads of feeling.

Some ancient noble Carmanian houses are descended from Imperial Age Dara Happan nobility, and might condemn the effete Lunars who have "corrupted" ancestral DH virtues.

Most of the current ruling families are descended from Aronius Jaranthir, who converted Carmania to the Lunar Way -- they might be culturally pro-Lunar, but without any strong sentiments (positive or negative) towards the Dara Happans themselves.

Check out http://www.etyries.com/carmania/carmatt.htm for my old article about Carmanian Attitudes.

But remember that Carmania is part of the Lunar Empire, and those nobles who are doing well out of the current regime aren't going to be vocally rejecting the Empire and its religion. It's more likely to be the disgruntled and dispossessed who stir up trouble -- which is why they're sent to Dragon Pass and Prax, no?

Cheers, Nick
