Without getting into Metcalfian detail, the Empire *STILL IS* Solar. Understanding the Lunars without understanding the Golden Empire upon which it is built is a bit like trying to understand a neo-christian sect like the Moonies or Mormons while pretending that Christianity doesn't exist. I for one happen to like a background that isn't two-dimensional.
While I'm sure Martin can defend himself against raucous name-calling, if his writing shows Orlanthi-bias then I'm the Red Emperor.
