YGWV I've been thinking about this and think that there ae two parts:

1. Removing you from the society.
2. Removing you from you gods.

#1 is done by the clan backed by the gods.
It should be done with a opposed roll, of your relationship to the clan. They meet, and decide. Then the ritual is just a formality. If yo have done something really heinous, then this gives a huge modifier to their success.

#2 is different, and it'd be opposed between your relationship to the
gods, and the clans' =---what, power of oulawry? their collective Relationship?

The latter might not work...
