Gloranthan overload?

Fwiw, I find the only setting that requires the players to have more background information than Glorantha is settings in historical earth. I remember trying to get a group of players (who were running a cadet branch of the house of de Hauteville in the 1190s) up to speed on the history and deeds of their family, the various important people and cultures of southern Italy, and the medieval church, basic medieval theology (like medieval penitence, the truce of God and so on) and all the damned saints of significance was a remarkable learning curve. Good fun though.
