Actually everything can be easily taken from Cthulhu, i think.
So in my view Edges are a must.
Convert average Cthulhu firearms damage into ranks like this:
average Cthulhu damage=HeroWars Rank
3=0 4=1 5=2 6=3 7=4 8=5 9=6 10=7
Skill/Apīs mean how effective you use the firearm.
Range modifies the effectiviness, so (as in Cthulhu):
up to 5m doubles skill
up to range uses normal skill value
up to double range uses half skill vakue
up to triple range uses one third of skill value
and so on
For automatic fire i made up this rule:
A magazine consists of 30 bullets.
-short burst (20% of magazine)-double damage=bonus of +3 (up to range)
-long burst (50% of magazine)-damage times five
-whole magazine (100% of magazine)-damage times ten
bonus of +1/5 bullets up to range
malus of -1/5 bullets further than simple range due to recoil
