Can Heortling farmers count?

I'd guess they can count their herd etc, but can they count 1000 coins unless they are Issaries worshipers?

Or how about math. Can your average clansman add some simple numbers? If not, then who can? The Issaries traders I assume. The priest? The Lawspeaker?
